Save staff time with session management

Eliminate the need for your valuable staff to remind patrons that their time on the computer has expired. A timer is always displayed on the patron workstation so they know exactly when their time is up. When the timer expires, the workstation locks itself down, ready for the next session.

Patrons must check in at the front desk to have a computer activated for use. A staff member puts minutes on a workstation and directs the patron to the appropriate workstation. The patron must acknowledge your acceptable use policy before the workstation will activate.

Save paper with printer management

Optionally, keep network and local printers in a 'paused' state. Patrons print normally but will need a staff member to release the print job. Collect your printing fees BEFORE the job is printed.

As an alternative, disable all printing on a workstation. To the user it will look as if no printers are installed. A staff member can then enable printing and all the printers will be available on the workstation.

Know the status of public computers at a glance

The mConsole user interface is intuitive and color coded. At a glance, you will know which workstations are busy, unavailable, or offline. A large timer counts down the minutes left in a session. Workstations with print jobs waiting show a printer icon.

A thumbnail of the patrons screen is optionally available. This feature can be turned off for staff members to protect the privacy of patrons.

Automate your computer waiting list

Setup a computer to allow patrons to sign up for computer time. Once on the waiting list, a staff member only needs to 'drag and drop' onto a workstation to start a session.

Generate usage reports

Usage reports are available so you can accurately track and summarize public computer use.
